NSW Certificate III & IV Traineeship in Outdoor Recreation

The Outdoor Education Group (OEG) is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers outdoor experiential learning to its clients. Our vision  "We envision a world where more people think and act to support positive relationships with themselves, dynamic healthy communities and the sustainability of life.

We have a partnership with Western Institute of TAFE NSW, who deliver the Certificate III and Certificate IV training. Based in Moss Vale, the Traineeship allow you to wok in the outdoors while you are studying.

As staff in training, you will be mentored by experienced trainers, have access to our range of staff training and gain a wide range of experiences via our diverse programs.

This is our fourth intake of Trainees and currently we have a 93% completion rate.  The Australia-wide completion of a Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation is 10%.
 
Do you have the desire to work in outdoor education indlucing demonstrated experience in outdoor leadership and a drive to work with young people?  We are now seeking people for a September start - get in quick to be considered! Address the following criteria in your application.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Demonstrated maturity and leadership
  • High level of personal organisational skills
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Desire to work with young people in the outdoors, or knowledge of issues affecting young people today
  • The ability to work and study autonomously
  • Desire to use the outdoor medium to teach to educational outcomes
  • Experience in at least one or more of the following areas is desirable: Bushwalking,  Canoeing, Climbing, River (canoe, kayak, raft), Cycling and Skiing.
  • Current driver licence
  • Positions available for Semester Two 2010
